Here are the Programmes we run as MHCD. Click on a programme name to view details. This programme involves assisting and the needy. While making visits in villages, we realized that many families children suffering from hunger, diseases like scabies , wounds rashes and some malnourished and without any one to help these children, we started these programme in which we give them free medication , clothing, food uniform to school goers and free education. Through this programme we have assisted and saved so many children’s lives and now they have hope. We have so many children in need but the support is limited in making us unable to assist as expected where only a few are supported according to our capability. Our prayer and request is that we get people who are willing to support us to assist these needy children in a better way. In Kenya nursery and secondary education is expensive. When we learnt that many children were staying at home for lack of money for school fees and especially those staying with their - grandparents we decided to open up a school that would be a solution to this problem . Education being the key to life we began by providing the nursery education. In this school we admit the orphaned and street children and other vulnerable children below the age of seven years. We provide free education, they eat at school, have free medication and free uniform. In doing this the lives of many children has changed. We have some street children whom when they joined our school were thieves and quite undisciplined, but since they got some teachings are disciplined and with a lot of respect. Some even managed to join standard one in the government primary school here in Bungoma. Their grandparents came to my office to appreciate. We had children who came with a lot of skin diseases, we introduced free medication and a balanced diet, currently they are healthy and fairing on well. There are so many children who need our support but we cannot admit them due to lack of finance. Continue praying for us so that we get more well wishers and we save these children. We need your prayers and support too. just as I mentioned earlier on is that we provide free medical care, food and education . We have a nursery class and pre nursery classes having twenty four children coming to school.
It is very important to be healthy you can work and get money or food. Though in most African countries health care is very expensive. The sick and poor without food or clothing while sick would be asked for much money for treatment making it hard for them to receive medication. Most of them would die for lack of money or lack of nurses and doctors who are trained. When we saw that most people were suffering from chronic, hereditary and tropical diseases and lack health facilities, we started treating them. We visit villages in Kenya, DR Congo and other African countries treating patients with Chronic Diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, Ulcers, Epilepsy, Hemorrhoid, Asthma, Rymathism and manage and manage HIV/AIDS and many more diseases. Those who are too poor we give free medication and to the able ones, they contribute some little money for the drugs. Through this programme we have been able to help so many patients. who had given up in life . We have treated those who had been chased away from Hospitals and can now manage a smile as they have hope of enjoying life once more as they become health and fine.
In this programme we have mobile clinics and medical outreaches where we go into the villages to conduct free consultations, laboratory tests, counseling for people suffering from chronic diseases and sensitize people about primary health care. We teach people how to use food and fruits to treat and prevent diseases. Also we distribute birthing kits to traditional midwives, expectant women and community health centres for free. We own a vehicle we use to collect sick people who are unable to go to hospital because of lack of transport means and weak. most African villages especially in Kenya and Congo where we are working the hospitals are very far from where poeple are living and many poeple have died due to lack of trasportation. We have a clinic called Tumain natural Centre (MHCD NATUROPATHIQUE CLINIC) where we treat all chronic, hereditary and tropical dieases and these clinic we have the services like, Consultations, Zapping Machine services, Lab test free of charge, Hospitalisation, Pharmacy, Mobile Clinics, Guidance and Counselling. We have clinics in Bungoma-Kenya, Bukavu, Uvira,Sange,Luvungiand Lubumbashi in D.R.Congo. We have an online consultation system to help those people who are far away but have an internet connection get diagnosis of their chronic ailments where we send them natural medicine and food supplements via post office for more information you use click here. At least 75% of Women in Bungoma District give birth from home under the care and assistance of traditional birth attendants. While taking statistics we learnt that most of these women giving birth face different risks like infections, death of mothers, babies or sometimes both. Lose of blood, mismanagement and many more complications. On learning this we started this programme where the traditional birth attendants formed gr oups which we provide training and lessons of how to handle expectant mothers , this picked up so well but went down we lacked funds for continuing, we need money for sensitization. Money to manage the training of the midwives, money to purchase medical materials that would be used for food during seminars and other necessities. The few mid-wives that were trained by our organization are very reliable and safe in handling an expectant mother we want the lives of the expectant and children being born to be safe and healthy. We therefore call upon brethren to support this programme. Just as we mentioned earlier on our training centre is assisting in creating job opportunities to our youth. At least they can make their own garments, can mend the worn-out garments and can make and sell them to get money for other uses. We have sixteen registered trainees with only one sewing machine. You realize that as one is operating on the machine others are looking on; so much time is wasted is wasted and at that end of the day some trainees would go back home without operating on the machine. We therefore call upon well wishers to support us be able to purchase for some more machines. The cheapest sewing machine in Kenya and which we are using is Kshs. 15,000/= youths are very aggressive and can do a lot of good work if empowered. We really wish they could be able to do noticeable work. One time another girl stayed for two days without coming to school, inquiring she said, other girls make noise to her while on the machine as one is very slow. We encouraged her but when the teacher is not in class she would not be allowed on the machine. So please help us out of this darkening situation as there are possibilities of this girl dropping out.
Most women in Africa are widowed due to effects from HIV/AIDS, wars and sickness. We decided to have this programme so that, as we assist the orphaned Children we don’t leave out their mothers. Some of this widows are infected with HIV/AIDS and most of them we introduced agricultural practices which we provide soya beans they plant, this is a highly nutritional cereal which assists in reduction of malnutrition among babies. This cereal is a balanced diet of its, own and we encourage more planting. One kilogram of soya beans is Ksh. 200/= and every widow is advised to plant at least twenty kilograms. Due to financial crisis our organization is undergoing and for many programrnes that need to be attended to, we sometimes supply less. Every month we have new as deaths and were fast becoming a daily occurrence. Our old members make their own seeds as they keep from harvests, even though due to poverty one would prefer selling most of the seeds. We welcome your support over this programme. But this is not to say every widow in Africa is poor, we have the financially stable ones but as the saying goes generosity is a call from God.
Many African countries suffer from lack of clean water especially in rural areas. As a pre-requisite to this, waterborne diseases such as Cholera, Typhoid, worms and many other diseases cause deaths and suffering to the locals. In addition, many children die due to Malaria and Typhoid. In Kanduyi Location, Bungoma District in Kenya and Kahororo Village, Uvira District, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, people walk for long kilometer in search of water which was dirty and we realized that most children were diagnosed with worms’ infestations which affected their health. In response to the above problem MHCD launched a water and sanitation program both in Kenya and The Democratic Republic of Congo which saw the installation of water pumps and drilling of water boreholes in Kanduyi Location and Kahororo village. As a result the locals of the respective towns enjoy a constant supply of clean water. We are planning to extend the same program to more villages and we need your support to achieve this. This program entails in supporting people in emergency situations so that we can improve their lives and give them hope for living. In DRC congo we visited a village called Luchiga village which is located on the slopes of Mt. Luchiga which is usually very cold. Most of the old women and widows did not posses blankets, which led them to suffer from pneumonia, asthma and bronchitis. In response to this need, MHCD provided blankets to each affected family. In Kahororo village we have distributed de-worming medicines and anti-malaria to all children. This programme needs a lot of support since most of the villages have many cases that we have categorized as emergency cases. We need your support. In D.R.C Congo, war affected very many people (approximately 5 million people were reported dead), property worth millions were vandalized and many women and girls were raped in the process. Like in one case, a woman was raped by more than 5 rebel soldiers. In other cases, children aged below 12 years were raped and tortured resulting in broken up families and many defiled girl child cases. MHCD started a programme in support of rape victims in which involved visitations to the affected cases, education coupled with counseling and topping up with a Micro-finance plan to help them start enterprising ventures such as pig farming, tailoring, charcoal sells, horticulture, raring of rabbits and other small business activities. We have more than 200 rape victims that we are currently supporting and we are in dire need of your support so that we may improve their living standards. This programme assists in promoting youth’s talent in performing arts. We are currently producing Music artists towards financial independence. We also produce our own Mission documentaries and promotional material. VCDs and DVDs formats, distributing them to interested individuals and groups so that many people might get to know and understand how other people are suffering. We also produce cassettes and VCDs that enlighten the community on how to fight chronic and hereditary diseases. We also usually write reports and publish Mission Magazines.
In this programme, we sensitize the public on several, diverse issues like primary health care, midwifery and proper nutrition. We usually have 2 sessions per week that run for 30 minutes each and we are so grateful that very many people have changed their lives for the better through the programme. We are currently installing a health and community radio station and we are appealing to all to join hands with us so that we may be able to complete the installation of the radio station. Immediately we get full sponsorship for this programme we shall put it in place for it’s a very import instrument in reaching out to many people especially in Uvira District. This programme involves going out into the forest and villages looking for particular plants and herbs used for medicinal purposes and after getting them in our offices, we perform laboratory tests on them to clearly diagnose their ailments. Since there are so many widows and rape victims, we sometimes exchange service for medicine as they go and collect the required medicinal ingredients in form of tree backs, roots or leaves. We also further support them financially to help boost their lifestyles. After making the medicines we treat those who are suffering from chronic and hereditary diseases.
